About The Position

Exciting opportunity for an experienced New Product Development Manager who can join our team in Batavia and will be responsible for the leading new product development team in identification, design, development, documentation, support, and maintain solutions for new technologies and sub systems. Responsibilities Create concepts, review, and approve hardware for trials and technology demonstrations. . Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, Pulleys, transfer stands, and integration experience with electrical systems and motors, actuators, Injection molding systems . Data driven decision maker and understood long term effect on execution plans . Need to always act with integrity and strategize when in ambiguity. . Experience leading and executing complex product development projects as technical project leader (can be expert in Mechanical design or Hydraulics).. Motivate and guide team members and project team to adhere to tight timelines and deliver product. . Experience leading medium size to large teams in matrix environment globally in a project or role (direct or indirect reporting). . Develop goals and metrics for team members on execution and support R&D strategy, and VCP plan. . Provide feedback on design and experience working with cross functional global teams (manufacturing, Product management, sales etc). Mentor junior engineers and provide feedback on metrics to team membersAble to deal ambiguity and guide team members when uncertain of directionLayout development plans and identify skill gaps in individuals Design, develop, test, sub systems and functional test systems, both independently and as part of a team, from initial concepts to full scale development. (Ability to operate test systems is a bonus) Hands on design experience using CREO and experience guiding teams to develop Injection systems. . Ability to read Hydraulics, electrical and mechanical prints. Experience in resource planning and willingness to explore technologies that can accelerate product release (ALD, Analysis led design etc) Evaluate and implement current and future technologies and requirements in electromechanical systems and Hydraulics. (solenoids, motors, drives etc) Analyze, evaluate, improve, or develop control mechanisms for specific applications or machine types, and document them. Explore pre gate technologies in other products and develop tool to rate technologies and integration. Adhere to stage gate process and demonstrated experience using analytical software’s (MATLAB, Motorpro , Maple Sim , CREO, Ansys, Simulation X etc) Ensure the delivery of hardware and software for subsystem trials on time and within budget, adopt a customer-oriented approach to tailor products to market and stakeholder requirements, and maintain a safe and hazard-free workspace and testing environment. Willing to travel up to 20%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a concentration in Mechanical or electrical (or related experience and education in a higher education establishment).
  • 15+ years of experience within Plastic molding or automotive, bulk handling storage systems, electromechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO standards, EMC Directives, and Hydraulic standards
  • Understanding of molding, dosing, material handling systems, manufacturing systems, material flow and related processes, or industry experience.
