Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or College Certificate in Engineering Technology; Focus in Welding, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical engineering is desirable.
  • Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in small to large automotive tooling and welding manufacturing processes.
  • Must have 2 - 5 years’ experience coordinating and managing projects related to tooling and assembly automated equipment.
  • Proven leadership experience; excellent problem-solving ability; organizational and planning abilities; negotiation skills and mechanical/technical abilities.
  • Strong working experience with PFMEA, Flows and Control Plans.
  • Must have knowledge of and familiarity, project management, APQP, PPAP, VA/VE, LEAN and other automotive related activities.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Project, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • CAD computer skills and Fanuc robotics programming is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned product and process.
  • Analyze and investigate issues and develop corrective and preventative actions and improve operating metrics
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with the focus on safety, quality, efficiency and delivery.
  • Manage PFMEA development and focus on Continues Risk Reduction on new and existing process and product.
  • Manage product or process engineering changes, ECRs and PCRs.
  • Responsible for all aspects including feasibility, design, process development, manpower, costing, quoting, equipment and tooling launch, validation and buyoff.
  • Leads project and product related CFT meetings, ensuring open communication relating to all ongoing and potential projects/changes.
  • Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment such as robots, robot controllers, and programmable controllers into manufacturing process.
  • Implements and practices APQP & CPMP procedures.
  • Complies with, supports and models CBAM’s operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.
  • Complies with relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001 ISO 14001).
  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA.
  • Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and tidy.
  • Other duties as required.
