About The Position

The University of Virginia’s Department of Parking and Transportation is seeking Enforcement Officers. Enforcement at UVA Parking & Transportation is an integral part of the University’s functionality. As an Enforcement Officer, your daily tasks may include utilizing LPR devices to write citations, assisting as a garage ambassador, sign shop worker or assisting our maintenance staff. The successful candidate(s) will also possess excellent frontline customer service skills as you are the face of Parking at UVA.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: At least 8 months of prior work experience. Experience gained during part-time work as a student may be considered.
  • A valid State of Virginia Driver's License. Must have a positive point balance via a good driving record on existing license.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize LPR (license plate reader) devices to issue citations to unpermitted and inappropriately parked vehicles.
  • Communicate via phone, text or email with Parking Operations Manager throughout the day.
  • Coordinate towing with Parking Operations Manager.
  • Patrol and monitor parking areas on Grounds including permitted garages/lots and ParkMobile spaces
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
