We are building a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, economists, strategists, and subject matter experts who are passionate about solving complex energy and industrial challenges. We welcome candidates with 12 years of experience through 20+ years of leadership and technical expertise. This job posting is for a future opportunity Preference will be given to candidates within driving distance of major DOE facilities, however remote work with the ability to travel occasionally will be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, public policy, energy systems, finance, data science, or related field
  • 12+ years of relevant professional energy experience (i.e., critical minerals/supply chain analysis and/or energy emerging technologies/water)
  • Experience with energy modeling/analysis
  • Prior experience consulting for the Department of Energy

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (M.S., MPP, MBA, Ph.D.)
  • 15 - 20+ years of relevant professional energy experience including critical minerals/supply chain analysis, energy emerging technologies/water, grid modernization/resilience, energy security, transmission/distribution, infrastructure, and/or data centers.
  • Experience working on federal R&D, energy infrastructure, or industrial innovation programs
  • Familiarity with energy market structures, regulatory frameworks, or grid systems
  • Experience with economic modeling, techno-economic analysis, or decision-support tools

Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends shaping U.S. energy security, industrial competitiveness, and grid modernization
  • Support technology-to-market strategy and commercialization pathways for emerging energy technologies
  • Design and evaluate federal energy programs, portfolios, and performance metrics
  • Conduct economic and regulatory analysis to inform policy and investment decisions
  • Perform economic impact, input–output, market simulation, and financial analysis
  • Assess supply chains, critical minerals, water issues, manufacturing systems, and industrial infrastructure
  • Evaluate large-load, data center, and industrial electricity demand
  • Support transmission, distribution, grid resilience, and power sector infrastructure studies
  • Develop data-driven dashboards, analytic tools, and decision-support platforms
  • Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and uncertainty analysis
  • Lead or contribute to stakeholder engagement, workshops, reports, and strategic communications
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic advisory support
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and complex consulting engagements
  • Lead thought leadership and public-facing technical publications
  • Lead proposals and business development efforts
