Reporting directly to the Final Assembly Supervisor, we are currently seeking an Energy Marshal (High Voltage Electrical Safety) for our Dayshift to be based at our Price, Utah LM1 facility. The Energy Marshal is a dedicated safety professional responsible for overseeing and enforcing electrical safety practices related to high-voltage and hazardous energy systems. Serves as the leader of the electrical safety effort. This role ensures that all work involving energized equipment, electrical distribution systems, and stored energy is planned, executed, and verified in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company policies. The Energy Marshal serves as the subject-matter expert for electrical hazards and acts as the final authority on safe work practices involving electrical energy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in electrical safety, electrical maintenance, power distribution, or industrial safety.
  • Strong working knowledge of high-voltage systems (typically 480V and above).
  • In-depth understanding of: NFPA 70E, OSHA standards, Arc flash and shock hazard analysis
  • Demonstrated experience enforcing safety standards in live industrial or construction environments.
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Safety Engineering plus 5-10 years of progressive electrical safety experience in an industrial manufacturing setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret sales reports, budgets, general business reports, government regulations such as OSHA, MSHA, UL, etc., Ability to develop and present sales presentations using PowerPoint or other effective sales mediums. Must be able to prepare professional-level correspondence, letters, and customer documentation notes. Must be able to establish effective communication ties and relationships with customers both internally and externally. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to develop accurate budgets. Ability to understand and know company operation costs and production costs to make informed recommendations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary authority for high-voltage and hazardous energy safety on site.
  • Review, approve, and monitor all work involving energized electrical systems or potential exposure to electrical hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical standards, and applicable local and national electrical codes.
  • Establish and enforce safe approach boundaries, arc flash boundaries, and PPE requirements.
  • Develop, review, and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for electrical and multi-energy systems.
  • Verify proper isolation, grounding, testing, and zero-energy state prior to work commencement.
  • Act as the final verification authority for energy isolation before work begins.
  • Organize and schedule pre-energization meetings in advance of energizing or de-energizing major pieces of equipment, making certain that all critical steps and safety concerns are identified and used to generate daily work plans.
  • Provide final approval and accountability prior to all energizations.
  • Participate in job hazard analyses (JHA), energy control plans, and energized work permits.
  • Lead pre-task safety briefings focused on electrical hazards and mitigation strategies.
  • Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions or violations are observed.
  • Train employees and contractors on electrical safety practices, arc flash awareness, and energy control procedures, and LOTO.
  • Confirm existence of and review LOTO plans for all jobsite work and ensure that only approved LOTO plans are incorporated into daily work plans and work activities.
  • Verify qualifications of personnel performing electrical work.
  • Maintain records of training, qualifications, and certifications.
  • Conduct routine audits of electrical work areas, equipment, and procedures.
  • Inspect PPE, tools, test equipment, and grounding devices for compliance and condition.
  • Investigate electrical incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, construction, and project management teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for electrical safety concerns.
  • Interface with inspectors, regulatory agencies, and clients as required.
  • Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work on time.
