About The Position

The Energy Markets Analyst I position at ALLETE Clean Energy involves supporting the development of short-term energy market strategies aimed at minimizing risk and optimizing assets. The role requires collaboration with the Energy Markets team to provide analytical support and leverage data analytics for continuous improvement in market strategies, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Degree in economics, mathematics, finance, statistics, business administration, data analytics, management information systems, or a related field preferred.
• Candidates completing their degree by December 31, 2024 will be considered.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain internal and external working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of short-term energy market strategies to minimize Company's risk and maximize asset optimization within established risk, contractual, regulatory and reliability standards.
• Work closely with the Energy Markets team to provide modeling and analytics support.
• Leverage data analytics, economic analysis, and statistical modeling to enhance market strategies and ensure strategies are being implemented and evaluated for continuous improvement.
