Overview The Energy Market Analyst Intern supports the project development and analytics teams by assisting with research, data analysis, and modeling related to energy markets and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to deregulated energy markets, demand-side management programs, and energy project development while working under the guidance of senior analysts and project leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university in Business, Finance, Economics, Energy, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related business major with a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior classification.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
  • Ability to be punctual.
  • Must have a great attitude towards work and others.
  • Must be able to take initiative, provide quality work with a sense of urgency and reasonable productivity.
  • Must be able to work independently to complete tasks with daily supervision.
  • Must have respect for tools, equipment, supplies and be safety conscious.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze customer energy data (e.g., utility bills, interval load data, rate class information) to support project modeling, savings analysis, and market participation assessments.
  • Support the evaluation and incorporation of energy supply-side and demand-side solutions (e.g., demand response, dynamic pricing, energy market participation) into EaaS project analyses.
  • Conduct research and basic analysis on energy markets, including pricing trends, market rules, and participation opportunities.
  • Track and summarize developments in regulated and deregulated electricity markets related to demand management and distributed energy resources.
  • Research local, state, and federal energy and environmental policies relevant to project development and customer offerings.
  • Assist senior team members with utility rate reviews, tariff research, and data collection for internal projects.
  • Prepare presentation materials, spreadsheets, and written summaries to support project development decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a structured, team-based problem-solving environment.
  • Adhere to company values and support an owner-advocacy mindset in all project work.
