About The Position

The Energy Manager will oversee the organization's initiatives to promote responsible resource use and environmental protection, focusing on reducing utility consumption and optimizing facility operations. This role involves collaboration with utility providers and conducting technical analyses to support energy reduction projects at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with twenty (20) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with HVAC, Control, and Electrical systems.
  • Current Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification or ability to obtain it within one year of hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CEM certification is desired.
  • Previous WIPP project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage efforts to promote responsible use of natural resources and protect the environment by reducing utility consumption.
  • Utilize tools and software to monitor building utility consumption and identify energy reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with utility providers and energy service providers to coordinate energy and sustainability programs.
  • Provide technical analysis, review, measurement, and verification for energy projects.
  • Conduct building walk-throughs to identify energy conservation measures in industrial facilities.
  • Use simulation software and spreadsheets to represent pre and post retrofit building operations accurately.
  • Customize software and spreadsheets to achieve desired technical results and presentations.
  • Assess project engineering risks and provide feedback.
  • Recommend continuous improvement strategies for optimizing existing control strategies.
  • Develop and streamline reporting capabilities from a software and usability perspective.
