About The Position

The Energy Manager (Clean Energy Standards) at Meta will lead external engagement on clean energy standards and their emissions impacts. This role focuses on refining a Scope 2 GHG accounting framework to accurately reflect the emissions impact of clean energy projects, driving carbon reductions. The position involves collaboration with Meta's Energy & Net Zero teams to advance clean energy strategies and partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in clean energy, environmental standards, carbon markets, or sustainability.
  • Expertise in clean energy markets, project-based accounting, GHG accounting, and voluntary corporate climate claims.
  • Experience in building sustainability partnerships and coalitions with NGOs and corporations.
  • Proven track record of influencing and driving strategic impact and communication.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with GHG standard and guidance development.
  • Familiarity with corporate climate disclosure regulations.
  • Experience setting and reporting on corporate GHG reduction targets.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing and proposed Scope 2 GHG accounting and voluntary corporate claim standards.
  • Develop models to measure the effect of standards implementation on Meta's global portfolio and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with external academics, standard setters, data providers, and industry leaders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align understanding of proposed options.
  • Educate internal teams on technical Scope 2 GHG accounting proposals.
  • Advocate for transparent data from electricity suppliers regarding carbon intensity.
  • Partner with international NGOs to promote emissions transparency.
  • Coordinate efforts to refine clean energy accounting protocols and standards.
  • Represent Meta in clean energy standards partnerships and engagements.
  • Align messaging on Scope 2 and Scope 3 electricity-related efforts with the Net Zero team.
  • Support Meta's clean energy strategy in line with standards developments.
