About The Position

The Energy Engineering Co-op position at Ameresco offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of energy projects. This role is designed for the Winter cycle, from January to May 2025, and involves working closely with clients to implement energy efficiency projects and support on-site generation systems. The position is remote-friendly but requires occasional office presence in Worthington, Ohio.

Requirements

  • Working toward a B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or an M.S. in Renewable & Clean Energy.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office programs with an emphasis on data entry and analytics.
  • Experience working in the Energy field, particularly with lighting, HVAC, controls, or building envelope.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients identify and implement cost-effective Energy Efficiency projects that pay for themselves through savings.
  • Assist clients in recouping investments on past, current, and future Energy Efficiency projects.
  • Support clients in designing, owning, and operating on-site generation systems.
  • Help clients problem-solve complex Energy Efficiency issues through audits, assessments, and training.
  • Assist the Smart Building Solutions Engineering team on Energy Services related projects.
  • Audit facilities, complete energy efficiency calculations, compile creative ECMs, and help sell projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
