Dauch Corporation has an opening for an Energy Engineer at the World Headquarters facility in Detroit, Michigan. The candidate will be responsible for tracking energy consumption, performance and cost regularly for all Dauch facilities through monthly logging and review of utility invoices for unit cost, power factor charge, late fees, accurate rate structure, peak and non-peak demand. Running monthly regression models to compare predicted consumption versus actual and identifying Energy efficiency opportunities. Job Description: Handling utility and energy usage tracking; evaluating and benchmarking the facilities’ energy performance based on metered energy usage and production data. Developing and implementing energy projects which reduce consumption of energy to goals in a manufacturing environment. Performing energy audits to identify energy efficiency measures, which cover various energy systems, including lighting, compressed air, and HVAC. Utilizing energy software and developing spreadsheet to perform energy efficiency calculations with pay back analysis and wring technical reports. Implementing energy efficiency projects to reduce energy consumption. Reviewing and recommending new technologies and products that would positively impact plant energy consumption. Developing estimates and written descriptions of energy conversation measures in support of proposals and technical audits. Review measurement and verification (M&V) of all energy projects to include lighting, HVAC, heat treat and compressed air. Develop regression models to predict future and expected energy consumption based on sales and weather data using energy explorer. Evaluating plant processes for optimum energy efficiency through energy monitoring systems and other statistical methods, including evaluation of utility bills and manual meter reading. Performing energy audits to identify areas in need of improvement. Analyzing data from internal and external energy reports. Complying with special projects and assignments as required. Proficient in Power monitoring system (Schneider Electric), responsible for programming and setting up new power monitors. Assist in maintaining and achieving ISO 50001 certification.
