The Department of Human Services (DHS) is currently seeking a seasonal Energy Assistance Worker for our Clearfield County Assistance Office. In this important role, you will help Pennsylvanians receive the benefits for which they qualify through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). In this position, you will be responsible for processing initial benefit applications and CRISIS applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This is a full-time, seasonal position, typically lasting 6 to 8 months during the fall and winter seasons, designed to support clients applying for heating assistance. After receiving on-the-job training, your tasks will include interviewing clients, coordinating with heating vendors, and reviewing and completing applications to recommend the approval or denial of benefits in line with federal and state regulations. The majority of the work involves data entry and application processing. Your tasks will be performed under the close supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor, who will review your work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program guidelines.
