About The Position

A reputable electric and gas utility company, headquartered in Bellevue, WA, is currently hiring for a Project Accountant. This role will support the company's new team focused on acquiring and developing utility-scale projects. The accountant will alleviate workload from an overextended analyst by managing accounting tasks, budget submissions, and consultant payments. This position is critical for ensuring accurate financial tracking and timely processing within a growing team.

Requirements

3-5 years of Accounting experience with a strong foundation in accounting principles.
Experience in any of the following industries - Energy, Utility, Property Development, Commercial Development.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar (high consideration for CPA).
SAP (SAP Ariba preferred).
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Formulas).
Familiarity with non-PO invoice processing.
High level of accuracy and diligence in handling financial data.
Ability to track down information and resolve discrepancies independently.
Reliable and consistent in managing sensitive financial information.
Must be comfortable submitting to a drug test (including testing for THC) upon offer.

Responsibilities

Tracking, validating, and reconciling all invoices and ensuring they are captured in Ariba, are paid, and then flow through the actuals.
Ensuring WSB, orders are correctly set up, coordinating with property accounting on journaling all prior costs correctly
Updating budgets and forecasts, and responding to monthly reporting in BPC and variance explanation requests to FP&A
Reconciling actual spend with EMC approvals, contracted activities and amounts, forecasts, and updating forecasts for future periods.
Booking accruals for activities performed but not yet invoiced and/or paid.
