The Energy Analyst will rotate through AEP’s Commercial Organization. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity for exposure to multiple areas of the business, gaining hands-on experience in energy markets, financial analysis, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will perform detailed analysis and engage in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams to support various initiatives within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field of study.
  • No additional experience is required, entry-level role.
  • Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field of study with zero years of relevant work experience.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field of study with two years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analysis of energy market trends and financial data to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects related to energy procurement, pricing strategies, risk management, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings to gain insights and share findings.
  • Support the development and implementation of analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes to inform business strategies.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
