The Energy Analyst will rotate through AEP’s Commercial Organization. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity for exposure to multiple areas of the business, gaining hands-on experience in energy markets, financial analysis, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will perform detailed analysis and engage in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams to support various initiatives within the organization. Requirements

  • Energy Analyst I (SG5) Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field of study. No additional experience is required, entry-level role.
  • Energy Analyst II (SG6) Education/Experience: Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field of study with zero years of relevant work experience. OR Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, or related field of study with two years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analysis of energy market trends and financial data to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects related to energy procurement, pricing strategies, risk management, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings to gain insights and share findings.
  • Support the development and implementation of analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes to inform business strategies.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
