Lockheed Martin is seeking an Energetics Engineer to perform lethality-related engineering research, evaluation, and engineering in order to provide mechanical engineering support for multiple aspects associated with missile systems, warhead technologies, missile defeat mechanisms, protection of launcher vehicles, and armor defeat for systems during their development and/or production. The candidate will perform tasks ranging from high-speed impact simulations using structural/hydrodynamic codes to analyze lethality performance and effectiveness using government-standard codes. The candidate will also be responsible for addressing technical issues for the payload system to include its various subsystems and components leading up to the integration of the payload system into the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) rocket and/or missile systems. Responsibilities will/may include: Execute performance predictions of weapon systems via structural/hydrocode analysis. Develop and process hydrocode models/meshes for energetics analysis. Assessment of vulnerabilities of target and/or missile systems. Definition of survivability criteria and failure modes and effects. Application of survivability/lethality/vulnerability data and modeling results to support testing and evaluation against real and simulated threats. Provide technical reviews of analyses and test data. Additional support of system and missile-level trade studies. Support of development of interface control drawings, performance specifications and statement of requirements that will be sent to the warhead or armor system subcontractor for use in system development and production. Support the verification of all technical requirements, review of design package information, preparation of test plans, support of component testing and test results, supporting technical interchange meetings and design reviews, and support of hardware fabrication and testing.
