Nice To Haves

  • BS Degree in Environmental, Safety or related field
  • Possess knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
  • Proficient knowledge and use of standard Windows programs (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Organized, motivated and dependable individual
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the EHS management program with the EHS specialist
  • Participate in the Safety committees, working with the EHS Specialist to ensure safety rules and procedures are implemented
  • Participate in a variety of safety trainings
  • Participate in accident and near miss investigations
  • Assist the EHS Specialist with a variety of safety projects including; PPE, Lockout Tagout, Risk Assessments
  • Work with the EHS Specialist to analyze active hazardous and non hazardous waste streams and evaluate waste reduction opportunities.
  • Work with the Occupational Health Nurse in Workers Compensation cases
  • Assist in implementation of ISO 14001,45001 and EMAS programs
  • Assist Energy coordinator & energy team in required reporting
  • Annual reports
  • Management reviews
  • Participate in quarterly Energy team meetings
  • Provide support on energy & sustainability related projects throughout the campus
  • Provide support for energy issues throughout the campus
  • Review individual targets, measures and deadlines from the energy program
  • Assist the energy team in tracking & documenting the implementation of measures, including all corrective actions from internal and external energy audits
