Endpoints Engineering Team Lead

OptiverChicago, IL
1d

About The Position

In this role, you will lead a distributed engineering team that owns Optiver’s Windows and macOS endpoints through Configuration Manager (SCCM) and through Intune. You will set direction, raise the engineering bar and keep day-to-day operations steady while delivering meaningful modernization.

Requirements

  • You are a pragmatic engineering leader who enjoys scaling reliable services and developing people. You communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure and know when to be hands-on to move work forward
  • You have a strong track record leading a distributed Windows endpoint team at enterprise scale, with clear ownership of Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune platforms
  • You have delivered modernization while running steady operations. Your experience covers image and configuration standards, application lifecycle, software updates, compliance, automation with PowerShell, and the reporting needed to prove results
  • You are disciplined in operations and delivery. Change, incident and problem management are second nature, as are backlogs, sprints, RAID logs and executive status updates
  • You work well with stakeholders. You build productive relationships with the service desk, infrastructure and security teams, manage vendors when required, and keep communication simple and timely
  • You have operated in high-expectation or regulated environments, ideally financial services, and are comfortable being accountable for outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • Bonus if you bring experience with large migrations, budget and license awareness for endpoint platforms, audit readiness, and a track record of coaching senior engineers into leadership

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap, standards and health of our enterprise endpoint platforms across regions. This includes operating system image strategy, application packaging and deployment, software updates, configuration and compliance, and platform hygiene
  • Build clear visibility of fleet health and delivery outcomes. You will champion meaningful metrics, dashboards and alerting so leadership and support teams can see compliance, patch status and deployment success at a glance
  • Run the program of work while keeping BAU reliable. You will balance incidents, service requests and problem management with planned change, risk and communication
  • Partner closely with our service desk and peer teams. You will ensure handoffs are smooth, documentation is clear, change windows are predictable and stakeholders stay informed
  • Lead from the front when the work needs momentum. You will review designs, unblock issues, guide automation with PowerShell and set high expectations for quality, documentation and testing
  • Grow people. You will coach a team across time zones, provide feedback and career support, and create a healthy culture that values ownership and continuous improvement.

Benefits

  • The opportunity to work alongside best-in-class professionals from over 40 different countries
  • Highly competitive compensation package
  • Global profit-sharing pool and performance-based bonus structure
  • 401(k) match up to 50%
  • Comprehensive health, mental, dental, vision, disability, and life coverage
  • 25 paid vacation days alongside market holidays
  • Extensive office perks, including breakfast, lunch and snacks, regular social events, clubs, sporting leagues and more
