About the position

The Endpoint Solutions Engineer 4 is the fourth level of a four-level job series within Community Health System's Information Technology Services (ITS), Desktop Design and Client Services department. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting endpoint solutions within the organization. The engineer ensures the efficiency, security, and optimal performance of endpoint systems, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. They serve as an expert and lead to other team members, communicating with internal and external customers and stakeholders to align endpoint solutions with business requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. The Endpoint Solutions Engineer 4 demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of endpoint technologies, applications, and tools, and has the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. They provide expert technical support and troubleshooting assistance, contribute to the development of new ideas, and typically work independently or lead projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support endpoint solutions within the organization.
  • Ensure the efficiency, security, and optimal performance of endpoint systems.
  • Serve as an expert and lead to other team members.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Align endpoint solutions with business requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas.
  • Work independently or lead projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • 6 years of information technology experience in a large enterprise environment managing devices on a large scale (e.g., 60,000+ workstations) required.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting endpoint solutions in an enterprise environment required.
  • Experience in Project Management required.
  • Strong Microsoft Windows Enterprise management experience with SCCM (Configuration Manager).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies preferred.
  • Extensive experience with VMware Horizon (also known as Omnissa Horizon).
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting preferred.
  • Work experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Two of the following certifications are preferred: CompTia Certified: A+, Server+, Network+, Security+, Linux+ or related; Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Enterprise Administrator Expert, Messaging Administrator Associate, Security Administrator Associate, Teams Administrator Associate, Teams Support Engineer Specialty, Endpoint Administrator or related; Nutanix Certified: Associate, Professional End User Computing or related; VMware Certified: Technical Associate or Professional.
