About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons/gastroenterologists/physicians and other medical staff in preparation and performance of surgical/endoscopy procedures by processing and furnishing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients.

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent Work Experience: 4-6 years
  • High school diploma.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program.
  • If not certified, evidence of continuous employment in the state of South Carolina as a Surgical Technologist before January 1, 2008 is required.
  • New graduates must obtain certification within 90 days of graduation.
  • Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, (formerly LCC-ST) preferred
  • Two years experience within the operating room setting preferred.
