About The Position

The Endoscopy Technologist position at Brunswick Endoscopy Center involves assisting with patient care and related services under the direction of Physicians and Registered Nurses. The role requires the ability to care for both adult and pediatric populations, organizing supplies and equipment in the endoscopy suites/operating room, and providing direct patient care throughout the entire patient experience, including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases. Responsibilities also include assembling required equipment and supplies, assisting the physician during procedures, performing specimen collection, and ensuring the cleaning and disinfection of equipment and environments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years endoscopy experience preferred.
• Endoscopy Technician Certification preferred.
• Endoscopy Technician Certification within one year of hire preferred.
• Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age.
• Ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble required equipment and supplies.
• Assist the physician during the procedure.
• Perform specimen collection, labeling, and transportation.
• Assist in room turn-around including cleaning of equipment and supplies.
• Understand concepts of Sterile and Non-Sterile Techniques.
