About The Position

As a Full-Time Endoscopy Technician at Keller Army Community Hospital, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization for endoscopy instruments and equipment. Your responsibilities include maintaining a sanitary environment essential to patient care and assisting registered nurses, procedure technicians, and physicians as needed. You will need to recognize and respond effectively to emergency situations, maintaining a calm demeanor. Proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials are critical components of this role, as is daily restocking of the workspace to established par levels while minimizing waste. Additionally, checking for outdated sterile supplies and instruments is essential to uphold the quality of care. By functioning independently within your scope of practice, you will ensure that current standards of care are consistently met, providing exceptional service to our patients. Location: Keller Army Community Hospital, 900 Washington Road, West Point, NY 10996 Job Type: Full Time, Start date April 20, 2026 Hours: 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, off all holidays with pay and no weekends Pay Rate: $47.50 hour

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of Endoscopy work experience in an ambulatory setting, or a central sterile technician with high-level disinfection experience in a hospital setting, is preferred.
  • A minimum equivalent of 30 hours per week of work experience as an Endoscopy Technician/Reprocessor within the last two years
  • Active BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Current CBSPD or CRSCT certification

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization/high-level disinfection of instruments and equipment.
  • Maintains a sanitary environment to provide patient care.
  • Recognizes emergency situations and responds effectively in a calm and controlled manner.
  • Appropriately handles the disposal of biohazardous materials/wastes.
  • Properly document equipment reprocessing and quality checks.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control and regulatory requirements (OSHA, Joint Commission, CDC guidelines)
  • Maintains confidentiality of records and patient information at all times.
  • Restocks the area daily, while utilizing facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices
