About The Position

Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence, a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers. The Endoscopy Technician, under the direction of a registered nurse, prepares the procedure room, selects and organizes the equipment, assists the physician, participates in an orderly and efficient room turnover based on a knowledge of endoscopic procedure, physician preference and patient care principles. Prepares and maintains all endoscopic equipment. This includes the cleaning and disinfection of endoscopic equipment, the cleaning and sterilization of accessory equipment, and the maintenance of a clean, orderly environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of experience as an Endoscopy Technician with completion of Endoscopy Technician Core Curriculum training to include Steris Operator Training Course, Care and Handling of Flexible Endoscopes and Equipment, Electrosurgical Safety, and ERCP From Start to Finish.
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR required
