Employee will be able to demonstrate both knowledge and skills based competencies in the performance of their role as an endoscopy technician while assisting the gastroenterologist with clinic procedures. This includes the ability to follow the instructions for use (IFUs) in the cleaning and high level disinfection of all equipment used in the performance of gastroscopy procedures. Employee must be knowledgeable of supplies used in gastroenterology. Must be able to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health Medical Group rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health Medical Group.

  • High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience with specialized vocational training
  • 6 - 12 months related experience
  • American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider
  • Valid CA Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RCP)
  • Advanced GI Technical Specialist
  • Completion of SGNA Advanced Associates Program
  • Completion of SGNA Associates Program GI Technical Specialist
  • 1 - 2 years related experience
