About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Endoscopy Technician to join our dynamic team. Our department consists of two dedicated Endoscopy labs performing a wide range of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The Endoscopy Technician plays a critical role in patient care by assisting the proceduralist during complex cases and ensuring the highest standards of infection control through meticulous endoscope reprocessing. Clinical Scope & Procedures Our unit performs a mix of routine diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures, including: Gastrointestinal: Diagnostic EGDs and Colonoscopies, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). Pulmonary: Diagnostic Bronchoscopies, Navigational Bronchoscopy, and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS). This is an excellent opportunity for a technician looking to expand their skill set with advanced GI and Pulmonary procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent REQUIRED High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Healthcare- - previous Experience - minimum 2 years REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Surgical Tech or Endoscopy Tech program preferred.
  • Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or SGNA Associate (GTS) preferred
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting or endoscopy suite is preferred, particularly with ERCP or Bronchoscopy assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and nurses during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the proceduralist, handle specimens, and manage complex equipment setup.
  • Perform manual cleaning and high-level disinfection (HLD) of flexible endoscopes strictly adhering to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards.
  • Ensure procedure rooms are cleaned, stocked, and set up efficiently between cases to maintain department flow.
  • Perform leak testing and visual inspection of scopes; troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Assists with the patient care in the Endoscopy Department.
  • Is familiar with gastrointestinal and pulmonary diseases and assists during endoscopic procedures.
  • Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies.
  • Functions under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
