The Endoscopy Technician, in accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assists with the coordination of care for patients in the endoscopy department.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalency required.
- Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred
- Effective Communication Skills
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal relations skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies and assists in performing invasive endoscopic procedures
- Processes tissue and bodily fluids specimens
- Maintains the GI procedure area in a clean, safe condition.
- Ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures
- Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
