Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Endoscopy Technologist to join our dedicated healthcare team here at Santiam Hospital and Clinics. The Endoscopy Technologist assists physicians and nurses with endoscopic procedures by preparing equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion, within three months after hire, of an accredited Endoscopy Technician certification program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfort working with patients of diverse backgrounds and conditions.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification (e.g., SGNA or CBSPD) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, EGDs, bronchoscopies, and other diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
  • Monitor and support patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
  • Clean and disinfect scopes and related equipment according to manufacturer and facility standards.
  • Document procedures, instrument usage, and any complications accurately.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure proper equipment function.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices.
