About The Position

Come join our growing Bronchoscopy Endoscopy team in Grand Rapids! We serve patients across our Corewell Health Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals and our outpatient facility located on Lake Drive. If you are looking for the scheduled hours of an outpatient setting and the pace and acuity of inpatient, we have the position for you! Our department works closely with our Endoscopy and Pulmonary physicians and other disciplines. We have several specialized and advanced training opportunities to grow within the department. We are looking for team players that pride themselves in supporting each other to provide top patient care in our procedural spaces. We perform a variety of complex procedures, including colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), bronchoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, and other advanced procedures in a growing field of interventional endoscopy. Across our three locations, we performed over 39,000 procedures last year. Our endoscopy technicians play a pivotal role in endoscope reprocessing and patient transport. There are opportunities to advance internally within a technician career ladder as the physician’s endoscopy assistant, working with tools and equipment necessary to complete the procedure. Scope of work Responsible for inspecting, disinfecting, assembling, processing and distributing patient care instruments, equipment and supplies in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards. Communicates and collaborates with patients and other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services. Acts as a role model and resource to peers and other members of the health care team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required

Nice To Haves

  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • experience utilizing aseptic and sterile techniques and practices
  • experience in the endoscopy environment handling scopes and education and experience in health care facility, or understanding of infection control practices
