About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician performs pre-operative tasks such as room preparation, equipment testing, and case set-ups. They also perform inter-operative duties, anticipating the needs of the procedure physician or nurse, collecting specimens and documentation, and obtaining/providing reports. Additionally, the technician assists with room turnover, including returning supplies, instruments, and equipment to correct locations and checking stock each shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior clinical experience in caring for patients required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical or Cardiovascular Technician Program is preferred
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist with room preparation
• Test operational efficiency of equipment prior to use
• Set up case in a timely and orderly manner
• Maintain aseptic/sterile technique
• Anticipate additional needs of the procedure physician
• Scrub procedures in his/her specialty independently
• Obtain and give report to relief person
• Ensure no errors in documentation or specimen collection
• Assist with room turnover
• Return instruments to decontamination room in appropriate manner
• Assist in returning supplies and equipment to the correct location
• Assist in checking and restocking assigned procedural suites by the end of shift
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required
