About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, primarily responsible for assisting in endoscopic procedures that diagnose and treat various gastrointestinal conditions. The technician will prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment, ensuring that all tools are sterile and functioning properly. Ultimately, this role is vital in contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the endoscopy unit, enhancing patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician program or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in endoscopy or surgical services.
  • Knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment and instruments for procedures.
  • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by providing necessary tools and support.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety by monitoring vital signs and responding to patient needs.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the endoscopy suite.
  • Document procedures and patient information accurately in electronic health records.
