Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year recent clinical acute care Gastro technologist Technician experience (Required).
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association (Required).
• Knowledge of preparing and maintaining a sterile field.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and supplies necessary for endoscopy procedures.
• Basic communication skills, problem solving techniques and professional interpersonal relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of the step-by-step progress of specific endoscopy procedures for all surgical services.
• Anticipates physician’s needs in regard to instrumentation and supplies, etc.
• Displays dexterity in the use of the required instrumentation according to technique, procedure and special requirements.
• Demonstrates ability to function in endoscopy situations.
• Anticipates instrumentation/equipment for a wide range of simple and complex endoscopy procedures.
• Pulls appropriate instrumentation and supplies consistent with physician’s preference.
• Endoscopy environment is set up and organized prior to patient's arrival into room.
• Utilizes clean and aseptic technique.
