About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for providing essential endoscopy duties under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and an Endoscopy Technician. This role includes both technical and secretarial responsibilities within the Surgical Day Care Unit (SDCU), ensuring the efficient operation of the endoscopy department.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), preferably with knowledge of outpatient or surgical care.
• Current active CNA certification listed with the Registry-Department of Division of Facility Services in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification completed prior to working in the unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Provide endoscopy duties under the direction of the RN and Endoscopy Technician.
• Perform secretarial duties in the Surgical Day Care Unit (SDCU).
• Set up, maintain, and meticulously clean and decontaminate endoscopic equipment.
• Handle and store endoscopic equipment properly.
• Assist the physician during endoscopic procedures as directed.
• Participate in maintaining departmental efficiency by ordering and organizing supplies.
• Facilitate communication and order flow within the department.
• Provide age-appropriate care to the patient population.
