About The Position

Sante Health System is looking for a full time Endoscopy Technician, to join our medical office team at California Gastroenterology Associates (CGA) in the Fresno, CA area. This position is responsible for the quality of service the physician provides to patients. The endoscopy technician utilizes a safe and secure process of disinfecting techniques, assumes responsibility for planning, implementing, direction and evaluating patient care for assigned patients in the gastroenterology/endoscopy setting. The specific patient population to whom direct care is provided includes adults and adolescents with gastrointestinal disorders/diseases. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through the Red Cross or a similar agency required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Medical Assisting or Surgical Technology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and sterilization of Endoscopy scopes.
  • Attends education meets on infection control and processing of scopes.
  • Clean and Sterilize Endoscopy equipment and room.
  • Under direct supervision of the physician during the scoping of procedures.
  • Follows ASC policy when disposing of biohazardous material labeling and handling of all materials.
  • Sets up equipment.
  • Restocks suites according to need.
  • Efficiently turns over endoscopic exam rooms.
  • Assist with basic patient care, including confirming patient appointments, providing patient education and preop screening scheduling.
  • Take and assist Endoscopy related calls.
  • Confirms patient name and date of birth.
  • Keeps equipment operating.
  • Maintains safe, secure and a healthy work environment, while following all state guidelines.
  • Respectful and kind with patients and colleagues.
  • Enters data in procedure software system ensuring all documentation guidelines are met.
  • Comply with all facility policy and procedures.
  • Forwards proper info to billing department.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Current CPR certified.
  • Sends scopes for repairs.
  • Sends equipment for repairs.
  • Order supplies.
  • May assist in Weekly generator testing.
  • In charge of training new tech.
  • Compares prices for savings coordinating with QA.
  • Orders oxygen, as needed.
  • Enters procedures for MIRCAL if applicable.
  • Schedules machine calibration as indicated by policy and procedure.
