The Endoscopy Technician 1 provides technical support to the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with all types of GI procedures, cleaning, high level disinfection, and basic troubleshooting of endoscopes and accessory equipment following policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines. Performs unit secretarial and clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse as needed. Meets qualifications and competencies as identified in the department specific Plan for Providing Care. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
