About The Position

Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Prepares patients, rooms and equipment for GI procedures. Supervises all GI equipment maintenance, disinfection and repairs. Assists the Endoscopy Manager in planning, communicating and evaluating the activities of the Endoscopy Lab. Works in conjunction with a registered nurse. Administers preps and transports patients and specimens. Provides equipment maintenance, cleaning and disinfecting and prepares procedure rooms for the following day’s schedule and stocks equipment and supplies. Assists nurses and physicians during all procedures and performs Hemoccult B testing: takes pH readings and other selected lab tests. Works with all equipment utilized in the Endoscopy Department to include scopes, light sources, electrocautery system and all other accessories and attachments used in Endoscopy and demonstrates effective cleaning of each. Assists with PEG or PEJ placement and care of site in conjunction with RN or RRT. Adjusts priorities, patient reassignments, and personal schedule to meet the needs of the department. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma / highest degree earned.
  • Experience - No experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training in sterile processing, surgical technology or on-the-job training preferred.
  • One (1) year of related experience preferred.
