The Lead Endoscopy Technician is responsible for the setup of procedural rooms and works in collaboration with the RN to assist physicians during procedures. Endoscopy Technicians are responsible for the reprocessing, high level disinfection, and associated documentation of endoscopes and accessories in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. The tech manages inventory and ordering of specialty supplies for the department and arranges the repair of endoscopes and equipment. Under the direction of an RN, the Endoscopy Technician assists with patient care in pre-op and recovery. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented, can prioritize tasks, works well in a team environment, and will advocate for the safety of our patients. In addition to Endoscopy tech responsibilities, the Lead Endoscopy Technician is responsible for completing the tech schedule on a 6 week basis, leading monthly Endoscopy tech huddles, completing new hire orientation or delegating to other qualified staff, and managing endoscope processing equipment maintenance/repairs with biomed and/or vendors.
