About The Position

As a Gastroenterology Technician 2, you work under clinical oversight. You perform examinations and procedures proficiently. You guide fellow technicians to ensure procedures meet standards. You oversee teammates cleaning and sterilizing equipment. Your role helps maintain a safe healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • At least a high school diploma or a GED certification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate or willingness to get one within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Help with procedures not needing sedation, making sure patients are informed, answering questions about the process.
  • Partner with nurses and doctors during sedation procedures.
  • Use scopes, monitor vital signs, and assist with emergencies like CPR.
  • Keep equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Train and oversee others to ensure quality control during gastrointestinal procedures.
  • Assist in the recovery room by monitoring and noting patient physiological data.
  • Prepare specimen slides for lab investigation.
  • Ensure technicians follow standards.
  • Give feedback and train new technicians.
  • Partner with Clinical Nurses in documenting required data during patient admission and discharge in the GI Lab.
  • Order supplies, get supervisor approval, and communicate with vendors for timely delivery.
  • Monitor equipment, create quality reports.
  • Manage maintenance schedules and installation.
