About The Position

The Endoscopy Supply and Procedure Technician supports the Endoscopy Room by providing direct and indirect patient care, technical assistance during procedures, and supply chain coordination. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the technician assists physicians during procedures, prepares procedural areas, and ensures equipment and supplies are available and functioning. This role also serves as a liaison between endoscopy staff and vendors to maintain operational flow and support case-specific needs. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Previous experience in patient care or endoscopy required.
  • Basic understanding of endoscopy procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with supply/equipment tracking systems and computer programs.
  • Constant standing; frequent walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs), pushing, and reaching.
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs; stooping, kneeling, squatting, and twisting.
  • Frequent use of vision, hearing, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to maintain punctual attendance in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet departmental needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in endoscopy support preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare procedure rooms and ensure equipment is clean, functional, and properly stocked.
  • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures under RN supervision.
  • Comfort patients and reinforce education as delegated by the RN.
  • Maintain infection control standards and proper handling of endoscopic equipment.
  • Document refrigerator and blanket warmer temperatures per policy.
  • Support patient transport, positioning, and discharge processes.
  • Review endoscopy schedules to anticipate equipment and supply needs.
  • Coordinate with providers, vendors, and sterile processing to meet case requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting equipment and supply issues.
  • Maintain par levels of critical instruments and supplies.
  • Assist with capital equipment requests and budget variance investigations.
  • Support inventory management and cost containment initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in all patient care areas.
  • Demonstrate cooperative teamwork and effective communication with all departments.
  • Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and competency updates.

  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and budgetary practices.
