By providing patients and internal and external stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, you’ll help ensure that patients at The Oregon Clinic Gastroenterology West Endoscopy Center receive the highest value care tailored to their needs. Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include: Provides professional nursing care during the pre-procedure (admission) and post-procedure (recovery) phases of endoscopic care. Completes pre-procedure patient assessments, including medical history review, medication reconciliation, allergy verification, and baseline vital signs. Prepares patients for procedures by verifying informed consent, ensuring NPO status, initiating IV access, and completing required safety and regulatory documentation. Monitors patients in the post-procedure recovery phase, including assessment of vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, and potential complications, and escalates concerns per facility protocols. Provides discharge education to patients and caregivers, including post-procedure instructions, medication guidance, and follow-up care. Documents nursing care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and facility requirements. Adheres to patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. Performs other duties as assigned in support of clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • ACLS required within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred.
  • Epic experience is a plus!
