About The Position

Endoscopy RN - PRN The PRN Endoscopy RN will perform the duties necessary to coordinate the care of the patients undergoing special procedures such as colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), or Cardiac Stress Testing as part of the Endoscopy Program at Salud Family Health Centers. Competencies include pre-procedural, procedural, and post-procedural care of the endoscopy patient, patient teaching, and advocacy. The Endoscopy RN approaches his/her tasks in a team-based fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. Supervision Received: Works under the clinical supervision of the Site Proceduralist and the Special Procedures Program Manager. Requirements

  • At least one year of experience working as a nurse in a primary care setting, endoscopy suite, or hospital setting is required
  • Current unrestricted Colorado Nursing license is required
  • BLS & ACLS certifications required prior to start date
  • Maintain Licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in Colorado, unrestricted license
  • Must be appropriately credentialed and privileged with Salud to administer moderate sedation within 6 months of hire
  • Maintain current BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications
  • To maintain active PRN status, the employee must work one shift every 4 months.
  • High level of critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to establish effective, trusting working relationships with patients to improve coordination of patient care and reduce barriers.
  • Must work well with the other patient care team members.
  • Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority community a must.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with healthcare team to facilitate and coordinate patient care
  • This person should have a creative way to solve problems to address patient’s barriers, ability to flourish independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational, tracking and documentation skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills in Word and Excel programs, ability to use electronic health record systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with patient navigation in a cancer screening program is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
  • Training and ability to administer moderate sedation is preferred
