About The Position

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse at Gastro Health in Liberty Township, Ohio, is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This full-time role emphasizes collaboration, stability, and support, ensuring a balanced work-life environment with no weekend or evening hours. The nurse will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for patients.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio
  • 1 year of RN experience preferred, but new grads are welcome
  • Recovery room experience is a plus
  • IV skills are a plus
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a PACU setting
  • Knowledge of GI procedures

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with all clinical policies and procedures, systems, and applications.
  • Develop and maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
  • Assist physicians before, during, and after procedures.
  • Perform nursing assessments of patients prior to, during, and after procedures.
  • Administer conscious sedation and topical anesthetics under MD supervision.
  • Maintain competencies in all areas of endoscopy.
  • Educate patients about procedures and care.
  • Document all pertinent information regarding patient care in a timely manner.
  • Become trained and proficient in all essential work areas of the center.
  • Inspect and manage inventory of all supplies and equipment before and after cases.
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment in the center.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all GI procedures.
  • Maintain log books regarding physicians, biopsies, etc.
  • Follow center protocol for reprocessing equipment.
  • Participate actively in assigned committees.
  • Attend all staff meetings and in-service classes on scheduled days.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of Nursing or Governing Body.
  • Oversee and participate in procedure room preparation and flow.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and discharge of patients.
  • Train and mentor other staff.
