About The Position

Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time We will consider qualified applicants of all ages who are starting (or restarting) their careers As an Endoscopy R&D Engineering Fall Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on on new products focused on the design, development and commercialization of minimally invasive medical devices used to diagnose and treat conditions within the body. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply engineering principles, clinical insight, and advanced technologies to develop innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes, enhance the physician experience, and expand the possibilities of less-invasive care.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate level degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Bioengineering.
  • Must graduate between Spring 2027 – Spring 2028.
  • Must be able to commit to the following full co-op program period: July 13th – December 18th, 2026.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Marlborough, Massachusetts, Boston Scientific location; transportation will not be provided by the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a related field
  • Experience contributing to research and development (R&D) projects, either within academic coursework or through extracurricular initiatives
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the medical technology (MedTech) industry
  • Hands-on experience with testing, prototyping and technical documentation
  • Exposure to laboratory, engineering or product development environments through academic or practical experience

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, design, and evaluate material, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment
  • Work “hands-on” in performing testing, troubleshooting, and prototype assembly for new products and technologies
  • Utilize CAD/SolidWorks as required while completing assignments
  • Design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development
  • Gather and provide technical data for technical reviews
  • Contribute or prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with peers, engineering personnel, technicians, and management
