As an Endoscopy/Gastrointestinal Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Gastroenterology team by assisting with various procedures and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting gastroenterologists and other healthcare providers during diagnostic and minor medical procedures, such as biopsies, while also ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained according to established infection control policies. You will be expected to prepare the necessary equipment and supplies for scheduled procedures, ensuring that patient safety is prioritized throughout the process. This includes managing medications, adhering to infection prevention protocols, and implementing fall prevention strategies, all while using two patient identifiers and conducting procedural time-outs to enhance safety. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be tasked with maintaining general stock levels within the department and reporting any safety hazards or unsafe working conditions promptly. Your role will also involve assisting in the orientation and training of new employees, as well as providing support in patient flow and transportation of equipment or patients as needed. You will be expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in your work habits and clinical practice, ensuring that every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership reflects the values of Kaiser Permanente.
