About the position

The Endocrinologist Physician will provide out-patient comprehensive adult primary care services including preventive and health maintenance services, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. The physician will also offer primary care consultation services to CFHC clinical staff and outside specialists who see CFHC patients. In the event hospitalization is required, the physician will refer patients to a hospitalist at a local hospital and will monitor care upon discharge.

Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with CFHC's program philosophies, goals, and objectives.
  • Comply with all CFHC's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to disease management protocols and key clinical pathways to improve clinical performance.
  • Complete all required paperwork on time, including payroll sheets, encounter tickets, hospital encounter sheets, evaluations, and progress notes.
  • Understand and assure compliance with CFHC's Exposure Control Plan.
  • Facilitate needed referrals, including social services for patients requiring services not offered at CFHC.
  • Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs as requested by the CMO or CEO.
  • Precept Medical Students as assigned by CMO.
  • Advise and assist APRNs as needed in accordance with approved protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in the review of primary care protocols and patient education materials.
  • Provide necessary information and signatures for participation in reimbursement arrangements.
  • Review incoming reports (lab, x-ray, EKG, etc.), sign-off, and follow up when indicated.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of coding and billing requirements.
  • Rotate to other CFHC centers as needed to provide coverage.
  • Provide off-hours and Saturday clinic coverage as assigned by CMO.
  • Report pertinent information or situations that impact patient care or CFHC liability to the CMO.
  • Provide a leadership role for medical support staff.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings.
  • Participate in Peer Review activities as requested by CMO.
  • Assist with the recruitment of other physicians and clinical staff.
  • Make recommendations to the CMO regarding the purchase of clinical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with other members of the clinical team.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Perform all surgical procedures using sterile techniques and CDC guidelines.
  • Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the CMO or CEO.

Requirements

  • Residency trained Physician
  • Board Eligible/Certified in Internal Medicine
  • Florida License
  • DEA Certificate
  • Insurability (malpractice)
  • Medical staff privileges at appropriate hospital if designated by CFHC
  • BLS certification
  • Computer literacy

Benefits

  • PSLF - 10-year commitment, 120 loan payments and at the end of the commitment, the remaining loan is forgiven
