About The Position

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Weight Wellness Clinic, is seeking an Endocrinologist or physician specializing in obesity medicine. Duties will include providing integrated medical weight management and specialized care for patients before and after bariatric surgery. The position will manage co-morbidities and complications associated with obesity and bariatric surgery; which include diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, nutritional deficiencies, and gastrointestinal syndromes. The position will establish professional and therapeutic relationships with patients; counsel patients on lifestyle modification and provide medication support to assist with weight loss and bariatric complications, including reactive hypoglycemia, malnutrition and dumping syndrome. The position will obtain and interpret routine laboratory and radiological tests, and integrate pertinent clinical information to develop and implement individualized treatment Applicant must have an M.D. degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program and Endocrinology fellowship program from an ACGME accredited program. Candidate must be eligible for a Texas medical license and be board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Requirements
