About The Position

The Endo Technician at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital plays a crucial role in assisting the RN and physician during invasive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in the GI Lab. This position ensures that the procedure room is adequately prepared, maintains endoscopic instruments, and follows strict infection control procedures to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• High School Graduate / GED
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional vocational/technical
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmias
• Minimum of 1-3 years previous endoscopy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN and physician with invasive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in the GI Lab.
• Ensure the GI Lab procedure room is adequately prepared for procedures.
• Monitor PAR level of all endoscopic instruments and supplies.
• Clean and sterilize all endoscopes, instruments, and equipment.
• Maintain endoscopic instruments and accessories in working order and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Anticipate and respond to the equipment and supply needs of the physician during procedures.
• Sustain a clean and safe patient care environment and implement infection control procedures according to hospital policy.
• Follow unit policies regarding cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
• Set up the procedure room by selecting appropriate equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient positioning to ensure safety during procedures.
