About The Position

Summary: The Charge Nurse is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic. Delegates assignments and provides supervision for the support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity. The charge nurse works in cooperation with medical providers to ensure the quality of patient care. Position is full-time with benefits and will be scheduled 32 hours per week - 3 days

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training
  • Maintains knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education.
  • Completes all mandatory reviews/educational required and assigned.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Is actively committed to meeting / exceeding employee expectations / satisfaction in the performance of job functions.
  • Retains all accreditations, licensures and designations in good standing.
  • Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or compact state
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and Adjusts staff schedule to appropriately cover the needs of the unit and ensure efficient flow of the daily operations. Including filling in as needed.
  • Provides leadership and direction to the staff on the unit while supporting and actualizing the goals of CDHA endoscopy.
  • Maintain general overview of the Providers and their needs.
  • Monitors staff adherence to protocols and procedures.
  • Monitors efficient room turnover, patient prep, and patient recovery.
  • Assists in monthly staff meetings.
  • Maintains continuous communication with all CDHA staff to ensure efficient flow of the daily operations.
  • Assists staff in nursing duties to efficiently prep and recover patients, including, but not limited to reviewing patient history, obtaining vital signs, placing peripheral IV’s, administering medications, scheduling follow up appointments, and rescheduling patient procedures.
  • Takes charge of challenges that arise throughout the day.
  • Ensure proper equipment, medications, and patient education is stocked throughout the day.
