The End User Computing Specialist III at the University of Florida is responsible for providing advanced Tier 3 IT support to faculty, staff, and students within the WCB. This role involves troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, offering proactive support, and consulting with end users to develop tailored technology solutions. The specialist will also participate in developing PC standards, provide user training, and support audio-visual systems in various environments.

  • Provide advanced Tier 3 IT support for WCB faculty, staff, and students.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians.
  • Offer preventative action recommendations for recurring software and hardware problems.
  • Consult with end users to develop optimal technology solutions based on their needs.
  • Analyze business needs and technical requirements to prepare requests for quotes and implement solutions.
  • Participate in developing standards for personal computers at WCB and maintain images that meet those standards.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff members.
  • Provide individualized training to end users, adapting presentations to their level of understanding.
  • Support the AV environment by installing hardware and troubleshooting systems.
  • Associate's degree and four years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma and six years of relevant experience.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and Project+ certifications preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-experts.
  • CompTIA certifications such as A+, Network+, and Project+.
  • Experience in providing user training and support for AV systems.
  • Health assessment required.
