The Setter Operator is responsible for setting up and operating end grinders to produce close tolerance precision parts, ensuring that the parts meet customer specifications. The role involves maintaining a 5s system for safety, quality, and continuous improvement, as well as supporting the Autonomous PM System. The operator will use process prints and operation sheets to set up machines, operate gauges for measurement, and monitor production to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Maintain and continuously develop 5s system that addresses safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and fully support Autonomous PM System.
  • Use Process Prints and Operation Sheets to set-up end grinders.
  • Set-up and operate gauges to measure parts.
  • Operate end grinders to produce the scheduled amount of precision parts.
  • Gage parts at specified intervals to ensure tolerances are being held.
  • Constantly monitor machine production and make adjustments to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure tolerances are being held.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must demonstrate good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be disciplined to follow Standard Work Practices.
  • Must be able to read and interpret process prints.
  • Must have good math skills in dealing with decimals and fractions.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Must be multi-tasked to handle multiple diverse tasks accurately.
  • Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or be called in at odd hours when needed.
  • Previous mechanical experience is preferred.
