The position is for a Medical Assistant at Wake Forest Health Network: High Point Medical Plaza Premier - Endocrinology. This is a full-time role with a schedule from Monday to Friday during day shifts, requiring 40 hours per week. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and offers a pay range of $22.50 to $33.75 per hour. The role involves various responsibilities including patient care, documentation, and clerical tasks within a medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

  • Participates in daily Care Team Huddles to ensure collaborative care is given to each patient on every visit.
  • Performs review of patient's medical records for upcoming, scheduled clinic visit.
  • Greets and escorts patient to the exam room, obtains and documents all pertinent vital signs and measurements.
  • Engages patient in conversation regarding reason for visit and overall health.
  • Prepares chart with any labs or other data for ease of access for provider.
  • Remains in the exam room, enters all findings, including physical exam and assessment provider notes.
  • Documents all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed in the electronic medical record.
  • Fulfills other patient care responsibilities as assigned.
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation during in-service meetings, educational programs, and conferences.
  • Practices universal precautions and properly handle blood and body fluids.
  • Completes training related to hierarchical condition category (HCC) coding.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Must have a CMA or RMA by one of the specified National Organizations.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant.
  • One year of Scribe experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in medical practice preferred.
